Screw Crown Watches

A screw-down crown aids water-resistance by sealing the crown to the case of the watch. The screw down locking crown can be securely locked in position through the use of a screw-locking mechanism. To set the watch, unscrew the crown, then pull the crown out and set the time. When finished setting the watch Push the crown in and turn at the same time until it is screwed tightly into place. If it is not screwed in it is not water resistant. Most of divers' watches traditionally feature a graduated rotating bezel and a screw-down winding crown. Such watches must be water resistant to at least 200 metres (660 feet).
