Luminescent Backlight Watches

Electro-Luminescent (EL) is a display technology based on the light-emitting ability of certain phosphors in an electric field. Electro- luminescence (EL) is an optical and electrical phenomenon in which the used material emits light in response to the passage of an electric current. Powder phosphor-based electroluminescent panels provide a gentle, even illumination to the entire display while consuming relatively little electric power. This technology introduced by Casio in 1995 as a response to the INDIGLO backlight technology which introduced by Timex in 1992. According to Casio definition, an electro-luminescent panel causes the entire face to glow for easy reading. Auto light automatically turns on the EL backlight when the watch is tilted toward your face for reading. EL backlight has some perfect characteristic which include a cool, elegant soft but high brightness of lighting, low power consume, moisture resistant, no radiation, and so on. Nowadays Electro-luminescent has `become widely applied to watches.
