During the 15th and 16th centuries, the 12-hour analog watch, with its simpler and more economical construction, gradually became established as standard throughout Northern Europe for general public use. Analog display of the time is nearly universal in watches sold as jewelry or collectibles, and in these watches, the range of different styles of hands, numbers, and other aspects of the analogue dial is very broad. Analog watches are easy to use and this is the reason why they are so famous among users.

Traditionally, watches have displayed the time in analogue form; with a numbered, Roman numerals, or tick marks dial and rotating hands with different length. The rotating hands point to numbers arrayed on the circular dial of the watch so as to indicate the time. However, it’s also possible to design further analogue watches with complex designs for the dial and the hands.

Recently there are 3 popular types of the Analogue watches:

-Analogue watches: This traditional analogue watch displays the time with a dial, hands and numbers or hour markers.

-Analogue–digital watches: This watch style has an analog dial with hands and a separate digital display. The two displays usually operate independently of each other.

-Analogue chronograph watches: This chronograph watch displays both the time and stopwatch functions with analog hands on a dial. The center hand will indicate the stopwatch functions while the seconds display in a subdial. Quartz watches with analog chronograph function often display 1/10th seconds and 1/100th seconds in subdials.
